According to a crypto personality known as Spreek in ‘X’, MicroStrategy’s X account seemed to have been compromised Monday morning with hackers broadcasting phishing messages, he said.
Blockchain researcher ZachXBT said in a tweet post that the settlement could have stolen at least $440,000 to date.
MicroStrategy’s X account posted several messages advertising a “MSTR token” airdrop, allegedly phishing messages, and linking to a website under the “microstrategy” domain.
MicroStrategy removed the phishing posts from X account around 10 a.m. Hong Kong time.
Bitcoin Will Replace Gold
Michael Saylor believes that Bitcoin will soon emerge as a store of value like gold.
Michael Saylor, the founder and former CEO of MicroStrategy and a big supporter of Bitcoin, claimed on February 19 that Bitcoin will replace gold in the digital age.
Saylor emphasized that Bitcoin has been growing exponentially compared to gold since 2020.
However, Jim Bianco, President of Bianco Research, argues that the introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs to the market is a big mistake.
Saylor believes Bitcoin is a better store of value against gold and argues that gold should not be preferred. He also says that it would be sensible to wait until hedge funds dump their gold.
Saylor points out that Bitcoin’s price has significantly increased when compared to gold and presents various data to explain the reason behind this increase.
