Today, the Chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Gary Gensler, shared a message on X (Twitter) to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Bitcoin’s white paper. Gensler, after being appointed SEC Chairman by President Biden in 2021, celebrated the publication of the original Bitcoin white paper written by the mysterious creator Satoshi Nakamoto and wrote in his message:

“If Satoshi Nakamoto went as Satoshi Nakamoto for Halloween, would we recognize him? Happy 15th anniversary to the famous white paper that started the crypto world by Satoshi.”

The fact that the chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission is celebrating the Bitcoin white paper has sparked curiosity and debate among Bitcoin enthusiasts and investors due to the SEC’s need to make decisions on various spot Bitcoin ETF applications in the near future. Particularly, leading financial institutions in the world, like the $10 trillion asset manager BlackRock, are hoping to make the country’s first applications to get approval for this product.

The 15th anniversary of the Bitcoin white paper marks the beginning of a new era in finance and technology. Bitcoin has since challenged traditional financial systems, gaining a market value of over 670 billion dollars today. It is becoming a national currency.
