The ZetaChain (ZETA) Project: A New Generation Blockchain

Zetachain

We are here with our review of the ZetaChain (ZETA) project, a new generation blockchain project that allows you to complete all steps in a single process quickly, easily, securely, and transparently. What is ZetaChain? What does it do? Here are the details!

What is ZetaChain?

ZetaChain is a foundational, public blockchain that provides smart contract and data transfer between blockchains. Aiming to solve cross-chain and multi-chain problems, ZetaChain aims to open the crypto and financial ecosystem to everyone. It is a Layer 1 blockchain platform built on Cosmos SDK and Tendermint Consensus, through which users and developers can easily switch between chains thanks to Proof of Stake (PoS) technology.

What is ZETA?

ZETA is the native token of the ecosystem, used to pay transaction fees for Zeta project smart contracts and also used to secure the PoS blockchain through the bonding/staking/slashing method. ZETA is at the heart of ZetaChain’s cross-chain transfers, security, data transfer, and transactions.

Standout Features

Decentralized and Public: ZetaChain is a decentralized and publicly accessible general blockchain network.

Hyper-connected Nodes: Nodes on ZetaChain have observers that track transactions. Thanks to the TSS architecture, the network can sign and validate transactions occurring on each connected chain. These nodes provide a seamless Omnichain environment for developers to build innovative and powerful applications on top of.

Omnichain Smart Contracts: On ZetaChain, smart contracts can be distributed locally and can write and read to the chains they are connected to. ZetaChain, the only general blockchain project that supports this capability, is ushering in a new era for application development.

Cross-chain Message Communication: A developer can transfer data between chains and layers through simple function calls. Thanks to message communication, a dApp developer can build powerful cross-chain applications by implementing a few functions in their existing smart contracts.

Managed External Assets: ZetaChain’s network and dApps built on ZetaChain can manage the assets and wallets of external connected chains. This allows assets on any chain to be managed like a smart contract on a single chain. This feature is applicable to all chains, including non-smart contract chains such as Bitcoin and Dogecoin.

ZetaLabs (ZetaChain)

ZetaLabs is a platform introduced to test and contribute to the development of Omnichain dApps and the underlying Zeta blockchain. Users can test, learn, and contribute to the development of applications built on ZetaChain.

Roadmap

ZetaChain, which was introduced in December 2021, published its Whitepaper in March 2022 and announced the launch of Devnet. ZetaChain team, who announced the launch of ZetaLabs in August 2022, announced in their roadmap that they have 7 completed projects and 11 planned projects that are waiting to be realized.
